Hawthorne Loyal Orange Lodge No. 407 received its warrant on January 22nd, 1846.
"The first Orange Hall was a small log building which stood on a sandy knoll a short distance behind the house of Tom Dempsey. A second hall was erected in 1865, it was destroyed by fire on Dec. 11th, 1903. A third Orange Hall was built by John Alexander. It was a one-room brick structure, located on the south side of the old Heron Road just west of the third public school...Methodists held services in the Orange Hall in the 1880s..." The former Hall of Hawthorne Loyal Orange Lodge No. 407 located at 4373 Generation Court in Ramsayville (Ottawa), Ontario. The structure was originally built in 1894 and was home to Ramsayville Public School until 1953 when the Orange Lodge purchased the building for $5000.
