The first Orange Lodge instituted in what is now the Province of Saskatchewan was Loyal Orange Lodge No. 1493. The warrant appears to have been brought west by members of the Mounted Police and organized at Wood Mountain about the time of the North West Rebellion in 1885. In 1893, Loyal Orange Lodge No. 1493 was re-organized at Maple Creek, Saskatchewan.
