Milton Edgar Maybee (1872-1947)

Milton was born on November 8th, 1872 in Murray Township, Northumberland County, Ontario to parents William Henry Maybee and Margarette Weise.
Milton attended secondary school in Trenton, Ontario and then studied at Albert College in Belleville. Milton married Theresa Gertrude Pake on November 27th, 1895 in Murray Township. From 1917 to 1920, Milton served as reeve of Murray Township. In 1919 he became Justice of the Peace for the United Counties of Northumberland and Durham and in 1920 he became a county warden. He was first elected to Parliament at the Northumberland, Ontario riding in the 1921 general election then re-elected in 1925 and 1926. Milton was defeated by William Alexander Fraser of the Liberal party in the 1930 federal election. Milton passed away on February 3rd, 1947 and was laid to rest at Carmen Cemetery in Carmen, Ontario. |
