Thomas Boyd (1867-1931)

Thomas Boyd was born on June 7th, 1867 in County Monaghan, Ireland. He emigrated to Canada as an infant with his parents. In 1895 he settled in Winnipeg and engaged in the printing business with the firm Boyd and Bishop and later became a salesman for the Phillips Paper Company.
From 1921 to 1930, Thomas served as an alderman for Ward 2 on the Winnipeg City Council.
Thomas was a prominent member of the Loyal Orange Association in Winnipeg and served as the Provincial Grand Master from 1923 to 1924. He was a member of Fort Garry Loyal Orange Lodge No. 120 in Winnipeg.
Thomas passed away in Winnipeg on February 26th, 1931.
